In the '90s, the introduction of first-generation composite decking brought relief to homeowners with no more sanding and staining. However, attaching it to traditional wood joists was still common. To address this, I developed a maintenance-free, steel frame system providing rigid, level support for heavier composites. After 2 years of engineering and building department approval, my steel framing system became a reality. No bowing, twisting, warping, or rotting—just a perfect surface for a forever lasting deck.
